The 5th Deep Science Hackathon at the ISSP UL
On February 7 - 9, the fifth Latvian high-tech Deep Science Hackathon took place at the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (ISSP UL). This year the participants were students and professionals from various Latvia’s universities and companies representing such countries as India, Denmark, Lithuania, Nepal and, of course, Latvia. They, with a help of mentors, formed interdisciplinary teams and for 48 hours worked together to develop new high-tech ideas based on smart materials.
International conference ‘FM&NT – 2020’

The 13th international conference on Functional Materials and Nanotechnologies - FM&NT – 2020 is organised by the University of Vilnius, Lithuania.
The FM&NT conference series was started in 2006 by the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia. Since 2013 FM&NT conferences became as common conference of all three Baltic countries being organized periodically by the Institute of Solid State Physics (University of Latvia), University of Tartu, and Vilnius University.
The scope of the ‘FM&NT-2020’ are: Optical materials; Nanocomposites and ceramics; Thin films and coatings; Energy harvesting and storage; Electronic and photonic devices and yet more. The invited speakers from countries closer and further from Lithuania will review a state of art studies in different hot topics.
