On November 24-25, the annual Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Business Forum was held. ISSP UL’s Director Andris Anspoks participated in one of the panel discussions devoted to high tech and innovation. During his short presentation ahead of the discussion, the Director introduced the participants with the ISSP UL’s experience and expertise in materials science, as well as told about the opportunities provided by Institute’s Materize platform for industry collaboration and innovation established within the scope of the CAMART2 project.
The forum included presentations by renowned local and foreign speakers from the industry and provided excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss new global trends, to spur successful development in engineering, explore new opportunities and competitive advantages, and to establish business in Latvia.
The event’s program included overview of the present mechanical engineering sector in Latvia – statistics, insights, perspectives and challenges of today; discussions on the future of engineering sector, new markets and development of supplier networks in regional, national and international levels; networking and matchmaking event for the foreign buyers and local companies.
The Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, which is aimed at working to increase export and competitiveness of Latvian companies, facilitate foreign investment and implement tourism development and innovation policies, organized the event.
