On October 30-31, the 7th 5G Techritory Forum took center stage in Riga, emerging as Europe’s premier 5G ecosystem event. This influential global platform gathered over 600 experts, policymakers, and technology leaders from across the continent to explore the pressing challenges and exciting opportunities in 5G and digital identity.
Participants engaged in energetic discussions about the latest technological advancements, including cybersecurity, quantum technologies, and the future of 6G. The forum emphasized the critical need for a robust and secure digital infrastructure, harnessing the immense potential of quantum technology to foster cooperation among industry leaders and innovators.
A highlight of the event was the co-creation session, which featured a roundtable discussion titled “Quantum Technology Landscape: Promoting Regional Cooperation and Innovation.” This session underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in navigating the complexities of emerging technologies.
Among the distinguished attendees was Dr. phys. Andris Anspoks, Director of the ISSP UL, who took part in a panel discussion titled “Aligning Industry, Research, and Public Understanding of Innovation.” The panel addressed several key issues, including:
- The necessity of fostering a meaningful and transparent dialogue among science, industry, and policymakers.
- The importance of building partnerships across sectors to ensure that innovations not only meet market demands but also serve societal needs.
- The development of long-term programs that encourage adaptability in innovation amidst evolving circumstances.
- The critical need for clearly defined quantitative indicators of innovation in the financial and annual reports of industries, universities, and research organizations.

Additionally, 5G Techritory 2024 highlighted significant achievements, including a signed Memorandum of Understanding, 22 co-creation events focusing on 5G practicalities, and 26 exceptional panel and keynote speeches. The event gathered over 1800 participants from 71 countries and featured 108 speakers.
The forum culminated in the exciting announcement that Europe’s leading 5G ecosystem forum officially rebranded as Techritory, broadening its scope to encompass the full spectrum of next-generation connectivity and technological innovation.
