ISSP UL leading researcher from the Laboratory of Materials for Energy Harvesting and Storage Dr. phys. Gints Kucinskis participated in the 32^nd Topical Meeting of the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE), which took place at KTH in Stockholm, Sweden, from June 19 till June 22. The topic of the conference was Experimental and Modelling tools for Electrochemical Energy Devices.

At the conference, Gints Kucinskis presented a talk, “Advanced Cathodes for Na-ion Batteries: Na_0.67MnO₂ and Na₂FeP₂O₇/C”. The purpose of this meeting was to demonstrate knowledge of the ISSP UL’s researchers and to network and strengthen the collaboration ties with various partners attending the conference (especially M. Gaberscek, A.-M. Svennson) and beyond (J.Li, A.Ahnyaz). As a result, the ties have been strengthened; the willingness to involve ISSP UL in future international project proposals and host exchange students from ISSP UL has been affirmed.

Additionally, the researcher visited two partners from the CAMART² RIX – STO collaboration platform – Jiantong Li at KTH Kista and Anwar Ahnyaz at RISE.

The International Society of Electrochemistry was founded in 1949 by leading European and American Electrochemists to serve the growing needs of electrochemistry in becoming a modern scientific discipline. Its membership comes from more than 70 countries and is organized in over 40 regional sections. Both industrialized and developing countries from all five continents are represented. ISE organizes one Annual and two Topical meetings every year. 

ISE’s objectives are to advance electrochemical science and technology; disseminate scientific and technological knowledge; promote international cooperation in electrochemistry; maintain a high professional standard among its members.
