From 22nd to 23rd November, leading researchers from ISSP UL’s Laboratory of Organic Materials, Aivars Vembris and Arturs Bundulis, participated in the Conference on Quantum Technologies in Europe in Madrid. This was a unique opportunity to share knowledge, discuss challenges and foster collaboration regarding Quantum technologies across Europe in this rapidly evolving field.
During this meeting, various researchers and companies presented their views on how Quantum technologies are developing and should continue to grow. Among these speakers were Prof. Juan Ignacio Cirac from the Max Planck Institute and two Nobel Prize laureates, Prof. Serge Haroche and Prof. Anton Zeilinger. This conference gave an insight into how the polymer photonic platform developed at ISSP could be integrated into the already existing Quantum photonic roadmap and the current issues Quantum technologies face.
The Conference on Quantum Technologies in Europe, organised by the Agencia Estatal de Investigación (AEI) and the Ministerio de Asuntos Económicos y Transformación Digital (MAETD) in collaboration with QuantERA and the Quantum Flagship was an event of the Spanish Presidency of the EU. The conference aimed to address the challenges facing the development of Quantum Technologies in terms of research and European policies to facilitate the delivery of scientific results to society and promote new opportunities to improve economic and social welfare.
The event provided a unique opportunity for researchers, managers and practitioners of Quantum Technologies to share knowledge, discuss challenges and foster collaboration across Europe in this rapidly evolving field.
