Energy Materials Laboratory leading researcher attends Battery 2030+ annual conference in Grenoble

The leading researcher from ISSP UL’s Energy Materials Laboratory, Dr. chem. Gunārs Bajārs attended the Battery 2030+ annual conference in Grenoble, France, from May 27 to May 29, 2024. During the conference, he presented a poster titled “Voltage Hysteresis as a Function of State of Health in Commercial Cathode Materials for Lithium-Ion Batteries” and shared insights on battery research at ISSP. Gunars also engaged in valuable discussions with the ReMade@Ari consortium for battery recycling and the Biologic company for battery testing.

Furthermore, the ISSP UL scientist had several stimulating conversations with prominent researchers and representatives from the European industry. Notably, he interacted with Battery 2030+ project coordinator Prof. Kristina Edström from Uppsala University and BEPA Secretary General Dr. Fabrice Stassin, who is the Director of Government Affairs for Electromobility Projects at Umicore. These discussions revolved around participation in ongoing science and innovation projects as well as potential involvement in future European science and innovation initiatives.

BATTERY 2030+ is a European large-scale research initiative reinventing the way batteries are invented. The conference gave participants an opportunity to network with key stakeholders of the battery research community and engage in meaningful discussions to empower green innovation in this field. The annual event included presentations from industry, keynote presentations, young scientists’ sessions, poster pitches, and poster sessions, as well as lots of networking opportunities!
