ISSP UL scientists participate at the E-MRS 2024 Spring Meeting in Strasbourg

At the 2024 Spring Meeting of the European Materials Research Society (E-MRS) in Strasbourg, France, from May 27 to 31, Bejan Hamawandi and Kaspars Pudžs, researchers of the ISSP UL’s Laboratory of Organic Materials, were active participants. This esteemed gathering brought together around 3,000 scientists worldwide, offering a platform to exchange cutting-edge research and delve into recent advancements in materials science.

The conference encompassed 22 symposia on diverse topics such as decarbonized energy and sustainability, materials for human well-being, 2D materials and surfaces, advanced materials characterization, materials sciences for cultural heritage, electronics, magnetics, and photonics. Attendees had the chance to interact with peers, explore state-of-the-art findings, and forge valuable new connections.

Kaspars Pudžs delivered a presentation on the results of an EXAFS spectroscopy study on thermoelectric materials titled “Temperature-dependent X-ray absorption spectroscopy study of thermoelectric Bi2Te3 and Sb2Te3 nanopowders.”

Scientists’ participation aimed to showcase ISSP’s UL expertise and EXAFS spectroscopy capabilities in studying thermoelectric materials while also laying the groundwork for potential collaborations. Throughout the event, discussions on potential partnerships took place with scientists from Spain, Great Britain, Germany, and Portugal.
