ISSP UL young researcher Rihards Ruska - Latvia’s representative at the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting

Rihards Ruska, a promising young scientist from ISSP UL’s Laboratory of Spectroscopy, has been chosen to participate in the prestigious Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting. Nominated by the Latvian Association of Young Researchers (LJZA) and the University of Latvia, Rihards joins the ranks of 650 top young scientists worldwide at this renowned interdisciplinary conference held annually in Lindau, Germany.

Since its inception in 1951, the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings have served as a platform for Nobel laureates and young scientists to engage in discussions, lectures, and networking. These meetings aim to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange across generations, cultures, and disciplines, with approximately 35,000 participants having attended over the years.

Working at the ISSP UL, Rihards Ruska has been recognized for his research in luminescent materials, which earned him the Young Scientists Award from the Latvian Academy of Sciences. His nomination for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting highlights his active involvement in advancing science in Latvia and his contributions to industry and society.
