Liepāja and Nīca students gain hands-on experience at ISSP UL

On April 17, students from Liepāja and Nīca secondary schools visited the ISSP UL to explore the institute’s achievements, research projects, and daily operations.

During their visit, the students engaged in interactive tours of several laboratories, including the Spectroscopy Laboratory, Microscopy Laboratory, and Energy Materials Laboratory, all guided by representatives from the ISSP UL’s Development Department.

ISSP UL has a rich tradition of organizing engaging tours for students, providing them with the opportunity to observe scientific activities, experiments, and state-of-the-art equipment up close. These tours aim to demonstrate the practical applications of physics and inspire students to pursue scientific careers.

The visit provided the students with valuable insights into the practical aspects of physics and scientific research. Through engaging presentations and laboratory tour, they gained a deeper appreciation for the institute’s work and the various career paths available in physics. Future events and programs are planned to offer even more opportunities for exploration.

Students interested in further involvement with ISSP UL were encouraged to consider participating in next year’s Solar Cup competition and Job Shadow Day 2025, which will allow them to observe physicists in their professional environment.
