On 19 October, during the 5G Techritory Forum, quantum technology experts, scientists, information and communication technology (ICT) industry representatives and policymakers signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the advancement of quantum technology.
Representatives of the ISSP UL, the Latvia State Radio and Television Centre, the Electronic Communications Office in Latvia, Riga Technical University, Latvian Mobile Phone, Tet, SIA Mikrotīkls, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Defence, and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development signed the Memorandum.
The event organizers pointed out that the signing of the Memorandum symbolizes the commitment to work together to promote the growth of quantum technologies in Latvia.
The signing of the MoU took place at the 5G Techritory Forum’s co-creation event, "Embracing the Quantum Era", which was organized to facilitate discussion among policymakers, scientists and industry leaders on the impact creation of quantum technologies on various sectors of the economy, including security and technological development challenges.
