On October 25, the ISSP UL co-hosted the first networking and matchmaking event, World Turns Deep Tech, which was organized in cooperation with the Stockholm School of Economics as part of the ESI Student Innovation Program. The event was an excellent opportunity to meet and exchange ideas between young scientists and students of economics, business, and other specializations.
During the three-hour event, the participants had an opportunity to listen to the inspiring experience story from CellBox Labs’ co-founder Dr.Sc.Ing. Roberts Rimša, listen to high-potential early-stage deep-tech idea pitches and form teams to work on the challenge presented in the pitches. The presentations amazed the organizers with the quality of the ideas – the scope and ambition were remarkable. At the event, everyone could enjoy the free atmosphere and inspirational networking.
ESI Student Innovation Program was created to inspire students to become future innovators and entrepreneurs. The program focuses on environmental and social innovation issues (ESI). The aim is to provide students with the knowledge and resources who want to make the world more sustainable. Students are given the opportunity to work on developing new products or services in various educational formats and the initial examination of their viability.
The program is jointly implemented by representatives of education and industry – Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, Latvian Academy of Arts, Riga Graduate School of Law, Rēzekne Academy of Technology, consulting company Civitta Latvija and industry partners (Latvian Social Entrepreneurship Association, Zero Waste Latvia, Techhub, Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia, Rezekne Business Association, Latvian Electrical and Electronics Industry Association).
