On January 12, Materize’s key account manager, Jānis Muižnieks, and sales director, Olga Bogdanova, embarked on a collaborative journey to Rēzekne (Latvia). Their mission was to explore potential partnerships with two prominent companies, Sonex SIA and Baltic Bullets SIA, both defence industry representatives.
The Materize team’s first meeting was with Sonex SIA, where discussions primarily centered around SEM cross-section analysis for barrel wear detection. The meeting was not confined to talks; Materize actively participated in a comprehensive tour of Sonex SIA’s production line. The potential for collaboration shone through as shared interests in characterization emerged. The meeting set the stage for exciting possibilities, with Sonex SIA expressing keen interest in ISSP UL’s expertise, potentially leading to substantial orders in 2024.
Continuing their exploration, Materize engaged with Baltic Bullets SIA, a member of the Federation of Security and Defence Industries in Latvia (FSDI). Discussions revolved around potential collaborations in characterization and the development of coatings to enhance bullet material properties. The day concluded with a thorough evaluation of these prospects, emphasizing the need for careful consideration before proceeding.
Materize representatives left Rēzekne with the promise of collaboration, having laid the groundwork for future collaborations in advanced technologies and materials.
