Advancing research in polar dielectrics: ISSP UL researcher gives an oral presentation at the ECAPD-2024 Conference

A leading researcher from ISSP UL’s Laboratory of Optical Materials, Dr. phys. Marija Dunce participated in the international conference ECAPD-2024 (European Conference on Applications of Polar Dielectrics 2024), held June 16-19 at NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology), Trondheim, Norway, with approximately 250 attendees.

Marija Dunce gave an oral presentation on the research “Approach for production of high-quality free-standing 0.9Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3-0.1Sr0.7Bi0.2TiO3 thick films by water-based tape-casting method”, conducted by research groups from the ISSP UL (including Marija Dunce) and the Faculty of Physics of the Vilnius University.

Additionally, Marija Dunce had fruitful discussions with representatives of partner organizations – Vladimir V. Shvartsman and Sobhan Fathabad from the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany, and Jūras Banys from Vilnius University, Lithuania. New acquaintances and contacts were made, and new knowledge in the field was acquired.

The purpose of participating in the conference was to showcase the ISSP UL researchers’ expertise, disseminate research results, gain new knowledge, and develop communication for potential future collaborations.

ECAPD is held biennially and gathers researchers, academics, and industry professionals to advance the field of polar dielectrics. This year, over 200 presentations covered a wide range of topics, from novel material processing methods to advanced imaging techniques, and from machine learning analysis to application-targeted developments.
