Representatives from CAMART2 Industrial Outreach activities work package – Materize participated in the third Mechanical Engineering and Metalworking Business Forum, which was held online on November 25–26. The forum was organized by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) in cooperation with the Association of Mechanical Engineering and Metalworking Industries of Latvia (MASOC) and gathered 123 participants from 21 countries. ISSP UL and Materize was represented by Dr. phys. Krišjānis Šmits from ISSP UL’s Laboratory of Materials Morphology and Structure Investigations. He participated in the pitch session Invention of New Technologies and Materials with presentation "Metals and their coatings – development and characterization".
The aim of the forum was to introduce foreign companies with novelties in Latvia’s mechanical engineering industry, as well as to promote its international growth and explore the opportunities provided by the diverse Latvia’s mechanical engineering and metallurgy industry.
The program included presentations by outstanding foreign and local specialists in the mechanical engineering industry on the future of mechanical engineering, industry 4.0, robotics and supplier networks in Latvia.
As a result of the forum many new contacts for further development of cooperation in both the scientific and commercial spheres were gained.
