Future collaboration discussed during the CAMART2 Electronics & Photonics Workshop

On November 9, the CAMART2 workshop brought together interested parties from ISSP UL (including Materize), KTH, RISE and industry partners. The workshop’s primary goals were to explore potential collaboration in joint projects and specific EU Horizon calls. The agenda included pitch sessions and networking events with Swedish industry partners.

The workshop focused on Horizon Europe calls Smart Photonics for Joint Communication & Sensing (CL4) and Condition & Health Monitoring in Power Electronics (CL5). Participants, driven by a shared vision, took swift actions to set objectives, allocate tasks, and envision the impacts. All attendees were introduced to the fields of expertise at ISSP UL and the services offered by Materize. The aim was to develop new contacts and expand the business opportunities.

During the parallel discussion sessions about specific EU calls, Team Materize held additional meetings with both industry partners, Excillum and AFRY. Discussions covered Materize capabilities, coating systems, and battery development.

Beyond discussions, participants explored RISE’s Photonics and Power Electronics laboratories. The workshop served as a meeting of minds, catalyst for collaboration, innovation, and a glimpse into the future.

While in Stockholm, ISSP UL’s Materize unit participated in a meeting with a Ministry of Defense representative and also with Leds4C, a global LED lighting solution developer. The company has shown interest in novel material development for LED shielding glass to enhance sustainability and cost efficiency. They were introduced to the fields of expertise at ISSP UL, and further steps are now under evaluation.
