Research assistants from the ISSP UL’s Laboratory of Microscopy, Annamarija Trausa and Edgars Vanags, attended the MecaNano Summer School in Rome, Italy, from 24 to 28 July 2023.
The school was a transformative experience by delivering an interdisciplinary approach to nanomaterial mechanics and nanoindentation. Through interactive lectures, hands-on workshops, and cutting-edge laboratory experiences, Annamarija and Edgars gained an in-depth understanding of nanoscale materials and their mechanical properties. The collaborative learning environment provided ample networking opportunities, while the culminating symposium allowed them to showcase their research to a distinguished audience. Inspired and equipped, Annamarija and Edgars returned home with newfound knowledge and enthusiasm, shaping their academic and professional journey in the exciting realm of nanomaterial mechanics.
MecaNano was funded by COST under the Horizon Europe program of the European Union and the University of Rome.
