Ph.D. student and research assistant from the ISSP UL’s Thin Films Laboratory, Halil Arslan, took part in the hands-on school on X-ray absorption spectroscopy hosted at the DESY/Petra P65, Germany, from October 11 to October 16.
During this school, attendees were provided with a comprehensive introduction to synchrotron light sources, coupled with essential insights into beamline optics. Participants were also introduced to the safety protocols for synchrotron light sources, and beamlines were thoroughly explained.
During the school, a concise lecture on X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) was presented to the attendees, after which participants conducted hands-on, practical experiments in X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS).
Participating in this practical school played a pivotal role in advancing sustainability, as ISSP UL, leveraging its profound expertise in X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), empowers individuals with invaluable knowledge in this field.
